The Batty family took over Coes Creek Droughtmasters in 2021 following the retirement of the Hayes’ after several decades of operation at the Wilsons Pocket property and Saddleback Pastoral Co evolved.
We have been fortunate to inherit superior quality generational bloodlines and an outstanding stud pedigree from the Hayes family.
Our Farm
Owned and operated by Wade & Anita Batty, assisted by their sons William & Oscar Batty the business is managed by Mark Torrens and his son, Adam Torrens.
Saddleback Pastoral Co. is passionate about advancing Droughtmaster genetics and improving our herds ability to deliver maximum value to fellow producers and supply chain stakeholders.
In an ever-changing marketplace, we believe staying ahead of the technology curve is a key pillar to a successful and prosperous operation.
Saddleback Pastoral Co. operates a stud herd of 250 registered breeders on 550 acres at Wilsons Pocket. In order to maintain superior genetic integrity, the majority of our replacement females are bred on property, complimented by mutually beneficial commercial partnerships with other high quality Droughtmaster Stud breeders.
Saddleback Pastoral Co. offers paddocks sales year-round and any enquiry or inspections are welcomed. Please contact Mark Torrens to discuss your requirements.
Our attendance at the 2025 National Droughtmaster Female Sale resulted in the sale of 3 Lots, some of the highest quality females to be produced from the property with strong genetic backgrounds.
Our brand statement is “LEADERS IN BREEDERS” and we believe often the females are overlooked by stud breeders on the role they play in producing class leading progeny.
For us at Saddleback Pastoral Co. our strategy is to develop the highest quality females in the marketplace to keep pace with the investment an developments in the industry.
